5/10要考试了,这还是第一次正儿八紧的写文章,读了很多范文,觉得不难,所以一直没对TOEFL作文上心,这一写才知道,小女子才疏学浅,时间紧的可以,字数也是生拼硬凑出来的338,心情无比沉重,求各位牛人指点迷津...:Q :Q :Q
题目:You need to travel from your home to a place 40 miles (64 kilometers) away. Compare the different kinds of transportation you could use. Tell which method of travel you would choose. Give specific reasons for your choice.
At the mercy of ever-accelerated updating of science and technology,there are rapid changes in all aspects of daily lives.When it comes to me the decision that how to travel from my home to a place 40 miles away,there would be so many options aviliable.In a metropolian like shanghai,the transportation system,no doultly, is quite advanced.There are not only traditional means like public buses,taxis,trains,shanghai also has very excellent subway network and maganic trains which are much faster and more comfortable.As for me,i strongly recommend the subway to be a wiser choice.
The first reason can be obviously seen,subway is efficienct and convenient.Some may argue that taxis would be a better option when efficiency and convenience is taking into consideration,but imagine if there what would it be like if there happens to be a traffic jam?Subway,on the other hand,will never has such problems because its special underground network,there will never be any cars or trucks which would be a barrier in your way.
Also,there is a growing awareness that the air pollution in cities ,especially big mordern city like Shanghai,has become more and more serious as there are more and more private vechiles appear on the roads.One may think a mere bus or taxi will not increase the problem a lot,but if everyone in the society thinks like this,how can we control the air pollution then?Subway usually uses electricity as power,which means less air pollution and less fossil fuel consumption.
People will never forget considering the finance issue when they make decisions,so am I.Subway,while comparing with trains or taxis,the price of it has a lot more advantages.The networks of subway almost cover everywhere,including the shopping centers,college areas and business centers,and it is much cheaper for you to transfer between lines.The well-designed network will absolutely take you to where you want to go with a lower expense.
In short,subway has its merits like efficiency,enviroment protection as well as stimulating prices,which make it a best choice of massive transportation in Shanghai,and it will no doubtly be my favourite choice for this long distance trip.
