133. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A person's childhood years (the time from birth to twelve years of age) are the most important years of a person's life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
"Life to be foreseen when you are three years old", as a loose translation of an ancient Chinese proverb reveals, childhood has long been viewed as an important length of time by many. As a by passer of my own childhood, I have had my share of childhood experience and I truly believe that childhood has always been the most important years in our lives for several reasons.
Childhood plays a vital role in our making of a person; it is the elementary period when our personalities and other fundamental characteristics are determined. In the first twelve years of clock-ticking since our cry first broke into this lovely planet, we learned and absorbed knowledge of all sources which formed the base of our future academic developments. At the same time, we come in conscious with setting our own models that we should follow in terms of personality, view of life and other qualities that we need to obtain.
From my personal perspective and experiences, childhood has had an influential impact on me. During my childhood, my father was my model; he spoke little yet his actions of honesty and perseverance were the qualities that really shook and inspired me in my early years. His firm pat on my shoulders and words of encouragement that reached me when I faced dilemmas still roamed my mind, and they helped determine my personality in my course of turning into a qualified man.
Moreover, childhood is also a length of time filled with memories of all kind, be it those of woe or others of weal. Can you still recall the vivid memories of yourself out in the garden playing mud with other kiddos or the time that you shared your lemonade with your kindergarten desk-mate and found it was too sour or the experience of asking your dad how far Pluto was?
Childhood is a period of quality time that we shared our dearest laughter with our loved ones and experienced heart-felt friendships from our fellow toddlers across the yard-fence. These love and friendships have an ever-lasting effect on our future when we share the same passion we had when we were young.
In summary, from the listed reasoning and my first-hand experiences, I believe that it is now safe to conclude that childhood is indeed the most critical fraction of our lives.
