向穗棉布族 学习,也贴一个自己的听写记录(4月12号-5月3号)

本主题由 Horse 于 2008-4-12 17:12 设置高亮

地理类No。1

这篇比较简单,地理中有一篇和这个是同一话题。

读了一遍就能读懂,开心中

从侧面说明方法貌似是正确的。。。

但是不熟悉的话题还是听的想自杀~~~~

Questions 47 through 50.

Listen to part of lecture in geology class.

I'm glad you brought up(提出) the question of our investigation(调查,研究) into the makeup(结构) of earth's interior(内部).In fact, since this is the topic of your reading assignment for next time-Let me spending these last few minites of class talking about it.There were several important discoveries in the early part of this century that helped geologies develop a more accurate picture of the Earth's interior.

The first keep key discoveries had to do with seismic waves(地震波)-Remember,they are vibrations(震动,颤动) calls caused by earthquakes.Well, scientists found that they traveled thousands of miles through the earth interior. This finding enabled(使能够) geologists to study the inner parts of the earth. You see, these studies review revealed(显示) that this these vibrations were of two types.compression(压缩) or P waves and shale shear(压缩,折断) or S waves. And the researchers found that P waves travel though both liquids(液体) and solids(固体),while S wave travel only through solid matter(固体物质).

In 1906,that a British geologist discoveried that h*

P wave slowed down(速度减慢) and at a certain depth but kept travelling deeper. On the other hand,S waves either disappeared or reflected back.So he concluded that the depth marked(标记) the boundary between the a solid mantle(地幔) and a liquid core(地核).Three years later, another boundary was discoveried, that between the mantle and Earth's crust(地壳).

There's still a lot to be learned about the Earth. For instance(例如),geologists know that the core is hot.Evidence of this is the molten(融化的) lava(熔岩) that flows out volcanoes(火山).But we are still not sure what the source(来源) of the heat is.

Questions 47 through 50

Listen to the beginning of a talk on astronomy.

Most people think of astronomers(天文学家) as people who spend their time in cold observatories(天文台) peering(凝视) through telescope every night. In fact,a typical(典型的) astronomers spends most of his or her time analysing data and may only be at the telescope a few weeks of the year. Some astronomers were found p* s* work on purely(完全的) theoretical(理论的) problems and never use a telescope at all.

You might not know all how rarely(很少的) images are viewed directly through telescopes. The most common(普通,常用) way to observe the skies is to photograph(照相) of them. The process is very simple.First,a photographic(照相的) at plate(金属板) is cold coated(涂上一层) with light-sensitive material(感光材料).The plate is positioned(固定的) so that the images received(接受) by the telescope is recorded on it.Then the image can be developed,at larged enlarged(放大),at and published,so that many people can study it.

Because most astronomical object(天体) are very remote(遥远的).The light we receive from a miss r* them is rather feeble(微弱的).But by use a telescope at as a camera, long time exposures(定时曝光) can be made.In this way, objects can be photographed that are a hundred times too faint(暗淡) to be seen by just looking through a telescope.

Questions 39 through 42.

Listen to a talk by a instructor(教师) in a biology laboratory(生物实验室).

Before we start our first lab,I'd like to tell you a little bit about the workbook(练习册) will we'll be using.

The first thing I'd like to point out(指出) is that the workbook contains a very large amount of(大量) material-Far more than you can could ever handle(处理) in a single semester. What you're supposed to(应该) do is choose the experiments and activities that you want to do-within a certain framework(框架,结构),of course.Part of my job is to help you make your choices.

Next,I'd like to mention that in each workbook chapter, there are usually two subsections(小部分).The first is called "experiments" and the second is called "activities".

In the "experiments" section, the workbook gives four full instructions(指示,说明) for all these the experiments, including alternate(预备的) procedures(程序).Choose the procedure you wish-there is plenty of equipment(装备,设备) available.

In the "activity" section, you will find suggestions(建议) for projects that you could can do on your own time. You'll see that there are usually note no detailed(详细的) instructions for the activities-You are supposed to do them your own way.

If there no questions, let's turn to chapter one now.
