The only way to encourage the energy conservation for govenment is to increase the price of gasoline and electricity.

Price is the only promotion of changing consuming habits, as some scholars say. Others, as a contrast, deem the fact that consumers alternating their interests is by multiple factors. Being a consumer, myself, I always believe that one factor could not determine one result, such as increasing the price of gasoline and electricity to encourage the energy conservation for government.

By the economic development, foremost, people are inclined to choose the things that they like or they got used to rather than something cheap by the reason that money is no longer the essential problem for the most of the time, while in the past, people mostly and constantly had to buy the cheapest ones because they could not afford the more expensive ones. So people may still use gasoline and electricity as much as they used to even though the price of them are higher, especially when they do not have a better choice.

Followed by the last sentence I said, people will not change their habits if the new one is not good enough for them. The more efficient and cheaper energy has not being discovered yet. Solar energy, for instance, is still in experiment and has not enough efficiency for driving the machines in nowadays. Or nuclear energy is keeping its enormous value of danger that could cause disasters and yet cannot be totally controlled. How could people trust such energies more rather than the one they had for centuries? Using gasoline and electricity has been done since the Industrial Revolution which happened more than 100 years ago.

In addition, the fundamental impulse for people to save energy is education because changing concept is much more effective than just changing the actions. People would conserve the energy consciously once they realize that saving energy is critical for both themselves and the earth. Consequently, making people to believe that such saving is crucial is one significant work that government should do.

Even I have to confess that price is the effective one for making people use less gasoline and electricity, which others will not deny as well. However, in conclusion, price is no longer and will not be the only way to encourage such conservation since it is just one of several factors to achieve that.

好像把electricity的部分给漏掉了，我使劲想在规定时间写完，但是还是失败了！我又失败了！我郁闷死了！我怎么就写的那么慢呢！每次都写一个小时！抓狂了！先贴上来吧，回去再自己改改！感觉这篇写的很不好，辛苦大家了！有谁知道怎么能提高速度？我下个月就要考了～～

Nowadays, gasoline becomes so crucial to social development which maintains operation of lots of equipments and transportation. Simultaneously, its volume is decreasing with an incredible speed. What can I do to conserve the energy? Some one thinks that increase price is the only way to conserve the energy. However, from my point of view, rising price is not the only and not a constant way to preserve the energy.


First of all, government is supposed to invest fund to invent new resource instead of gas. Before a long, many countries was begin to being aware of the sever problem and took actions. Now, there are some new resources replacing gas that work in some areas. Solar energy, for instance, is used in some regions that have sufficient sunlight. It is exploited to make vehicle work, or heat temperature. Another way is that government could induce and encourage the market to factory and sell those energy-saving machines to decrease the use of gas. For example, government could legislate for supporting and rewarding those factories that manufactory energy-saving machine.


Moreover, it is an efficient way to decrease the amount of using of gas that to cultivate people’s notice of saving energy. Government could appeal people to reduce energy waste through launching movements concerning energy. In this way, reminding people to recognize how crisis the situation is. If all people no matter child or adult, merchant or consumer could be choice goods intentionally that could save energy, I believe that consuming amount of gas should have a sharply reduction.


In addition, government should further perfect utilized transportation to change people’s bad impression of the utility transportation. No one will deny that vehicle is a major contributes to render the decline of the gas’s capacity. And partly reason caused the number of vehicles soaring is that people can not endure the bad atmosphere and crowded people of the utility transportation. If government could improve conditions of the transportation, people who go out by driving cars will diminish.

In a conclusion, there is not only way to solve the reduction of energy, government could control the use of energy via the method of reward or punishment, or investing the invention of new resources. The increase of the price of gas is a way that can release the intension of the problem rather a permanent method.

As the fast development of the world, the transportation, industry, and our home are consume numerous energy everyday. It brings about the controversial discussion between whether it is the only way for government to encourage energy conservation by increase the price of gasoline. From where I stand, I consider there are better solutions.

To begin with, "Energy is unrenewable", advocated by environmentalists. It is high time that government start focus the research on gasoline replacement. Gasoline, as a resource formed through millions of years, it is no doubt that the speed of our consumption higher than its speed of reproduction. So, whatever how much it is in the earth, it will run out one day. One of the effective ways is to find the new resource, fuel, new gasoline. For example, some scientists proclaim that hydrogen may become the most essential fuel in the future. Research shows that it can produce from water, from the most common resource in the world. Besides, after reaction the only reminder is water. No pollution! But this technology is still under developing. Hardly can I imagine our world will be in future if government does not find new resource.

Furthermore, as a proverb says, "eople' power is endless". Government should make people understand that the more energy they use today, the less it exist on the earth. Energy conservation is a arduous task, it should be taken by the whole world rather by only an area or a country. Imagine the population in the world up to six billions, suppose that if people save a small amount of energy everyday, surely it will up to a gigantic amount or even become unimaginable as years past. So, the government should use the way that it can use to put the concept of energy conservation to people's mind. Such as advertisement, television program, books, public activity and so on, it should ensure people will exert a positive effect on energy conservation.  

Admittedly, improve the place of gasoline have its own advantages, it may costs people more money when they waste electricity or gasoline, that may reduce the energy consume at a certain rate. However, it does not solve the problem thoroughly. The solutions should be research the new resource, make people able to save the energy. Obviously, these solutions merits overshadowed the advantages of improve the price of gasoline. So, I still cling to my point.

Energy conservation is currently of great concern to the government. Because of the scarcity of the nature resources, it is indispensable for any government to take effect measure to encourage energy conservation. Some people demand that to increase the price of gasoline and electricity is the only way to solve the problem effectively. However, it is superficial to simply say that the only method to conserve the energy is to raise the price. To introduction of energy-saving system or exploit for alternative resources also help to conserve the energy.

One the one hand, the people who hold the opinion that to increase the price of gasoline and electricity without recognize the fact that the high price will bring economic pressure to common people as these two things are necessity in their daily life. It is more feasible for the government to find the way to make full use of the nature resources, such as research for the energy-saving engines and appliances which help to save energy. Compare with the higher price, the energy-saving engines and appliances must be wide spread acceptance. For the energy-saving system could not only save the energy but also benefit common people.

On the other hand, it is an irresistible trend of natural resources will be used up. To raise the price just meets the immediate interest. If the governments pay more attention on alternative research, they will enjoy the interest in the long run. Nowadays, energy can be obtained through various new resources such as solar heat, the wind or water power and even ocean tide. According to the recent statistic from Academy of Sustainable Development shows that 56% of daily electricity consumption in China is provide by the Three Gorge Hydropower Station on Yangtze River. In the foreseeable future, the common use of alternative resources will be an efficient way to compensate for the lack of natural resources.

Obviously, either to introduction of energy-saving system or exploit for alternative resources can help to conserve energy efficiently, so to increase the price of gasoline and electricity is not the only efficient way.

As everyone knows, No one can deny that government should take energy conservation into consideration. Further more, government should realize that energy conservation is an issue associate with sustainable development. However, as far as I concerned, asserting that increasing the price of gasoline and electricity is the only way to achieve the goal can not hold water.

First, higher price may have little effect on controlling energy consumption. Nowadays, energy has been increasingly emphasized by the whole world, since it is common sense that energy is limited. In this trend, the price of energy will rise without any doubt. So big energy consumers, such as some large factories, may not seem the higher price as sign of cutting energy consumption. In this status, if the government put all egg in the basket that raising the price of energy, it may not achieve its goal in the end.

Second, even energy conservation can be encouraged by government increasing the price of energy, there may be alternative measurements. To achieve the goal of energy conservation, government should realize the difficulty and make a comprehensive plan. So besides raise the price of several kinds of main energy, the government may take some other measurement. For example, to legislate some acts to restrict the energy consumption and punish the factories which exceeds the limit. Also, government can consider publicizing the necessity of energy conservation to the society.

It is undoubted that energy conservation is necessary and government should put it into careful consideration for sustainable development of the country. But the government should think of a comprehensive plan to achieve the goal rather than only raise the price of gasoline and electricity.

        小弟第一次来到，请大家多关照，一定遵守规矩，大家互相帮助。刚开始练作文，写的不好，不满意，拿来大家批评下，希望能进步！规定时间写完，之后改了很多错别字和语法不通之处，大家主要从结构上提些意见吧，我觉得写得有点乱。先谢谢各位了！

       Many people would agree that increasing the price of gasoline and electricity is an effective way of controlling the consumption of energy. It is definitely correct but we should not forget the fact that there are many other means of conserve energy at the same time. Encouraging on the development of a new energy-saving life style and inventing new technology to preserve energy are both reasonable methods.
        In the first place, government can employ the power of nation's media system to publicize the new conception of a good life. Traditionally, the main, if not the only, standard of measuring a life quality is the amount of money a person owns. But this narrow interpretation toward life is no longer suitable in modern times. Let's assume a person who is very rich but at the same time his health is very poor. No one could deny that he is not living a happy life. Ideally, a good life should be a balance between material abundance and mental happiness. Accordingly, it is improper for us to consume too much energy than we actually need. The burning of coal, which is still a major way to produce electricity, will result in pollution in the air; too much cars will also cause the increase of waste gas which is harmful to human. By demonstrating the relation between our consumption of energy and our health, the government can reasonably predict that more and more people will think twice when they want to do some energy-consuming activities which are not necessary to them.
         In addition, as the government has much more money than any individual in the country, if it put much money in the developing of new technology, new invention are more likely to be brought about. The advent of new technology can be employed to save energy. According to the scientific statistics, the energy-saving bulbs have saved enough electricity that people in China can use the energy to cook for one whole year.
           To sum up, besides increasing the energy price, the government has many other things to do to prevent the inclination of abusing energy.

In spite of some impacts, which are so minute that could not influence all human being, increasing the price of resources will not induce the wealthy to cherish energy, which means elevating the price is the only way for the poor to grant resource conservation.

Considering the most influential aspect for raising the price of energy is to force a small part of people, especially the poor, who are not able to afford the high cost of gasoline and electricity to reduce or give up consuming the resources. On the other hand, how expensive should the energy is could oblige people to regard it as treasure? As crucial as the basic necessarily substance, such as gasoline and electricity, is for people to live, it is unpractical to increase the price of energy too high to afford.

Even if the cost of energy is so expensive that the poor have to suffer from the shortage of resources, with low possibility that it could constrain the wealthy as well as the poor. The wealthy, who possess a large amount of fortune, will not regard high cost as an obstacle for them to enjoy using the energy. Hence, high price strategy will not affect the wealthy to decrease the abuse of energy.

So far as I know, educating human being to concentrate on the earth environment could arouse their consciousness of treasuring energy, which of course will encourage people to grant resources conversation. Another effective method is to announce the emergency and advocacy of energy conversation to cause people to cherish resources.

Elevating the price of energy is a method to encourage the resources conversations, in terms of the poor, not in terms of the wealthy. Since there are many other effective means to advance people to be thrifty with the limited energy, I can not take part with the viewpoint that increasing the price of gasoline and electricity is the only way to achieve conversation.
