After the World War Two,the world has been undergoing a drastically soaring development of mordernization.As a result,the human beings have consumed a astonishingly amount of gasoline and electricity,which is dramatically increasing every year nowadays.It’s high time that we should take measures to save non-renewable energy for offspring and alter the lavish way of exploiting resources.It’s true that increasing the price of gasoline and electricity can encourage the energy conservation.However ,it’s a bit superfical and extreme to say it’s the only way to tackle the promblems.A few alternatives may also dedicate to the solution,which can be listed as follows:
To begin with,it’s very convinient and efficent for government to convey the idea of energy-saving through the mass media.For instance,to persuade the public to cultivate the habit of conseving energy,the TV channels could possibly broadcast some commonweal advertisement,which may show the image when the energy resouces run out,we human beings is walking on the edge of extinction in specific details.In this way,the pubilc will be aware of the energy crisis and instinctively save the energy unconsciously or subconsciously.Moreover, the column writers might publicize the appeal to readers to involve in the actions to economizing the energy in the  newspaper or magazines.
Secondly, all kinds of diverse organization could initiate relevant activities to urge the personnels engagement in the energy-saving movement to carry out the primary policy of the government.The bosses shall advocate the energy-saving behavior ,and the staff should be appraised and rewarded for this moral contribution.It’s never going to be overstressed that we should turn off the tap with no water dripping when we leave,and we should switch off all electricity-consuming facilities when leaving the classrooms or offices.What’s more,it’s very simple for us to utilize the both sides of the paper to save the lumber.
Last but not least,it’s recommended that the government could give extra bonus and privilige to reseach center to develop the renewable energy or the industries that  make use of  solar energy and wind energy as an alternative.
To summarize,except for increasing the price,there are still a lot we can manage to preserve the energy for the furture.Therefore ,I can hardly agree that  the rising price is the only way to encourage the energy conservation

Whether improving the price of gasoline and electricity has been an issue debated both in the public and private sector. Some people argue that the price of energy is so important to people that the increase of its price will only worse people’s living and do nothing good.

However, according to a survey by five top Chinese Universities including Beijing University and Tsinghua University, the number of people who believe that the increase of price will benefit the national conservation of energy is ascending these years, and among those people, approximately 50% reckon that only through price increasing, can the energy conservation be steady or even climb up. I am not a total believer in data, but I do believe that data tell us truth this time. That is, if we want to encourage our energy conservation, the only way is to increase the energy price.

People will use less energy if the energy price arises. Needless to say, higher price results lower requirement. In the energy crisis in 1970s, many people changed their luxury SUVs to small sedans which need much less gasoline for the same mileage.

In addition, the high energy price also gives the companies the motivation to spender more money on energy saving technology. Along with the progress of technology, the energy will be more efficient. Thus, the energy reservation will also be enhanced if a relatively small amount of energy is needed.

More importantly, traditional energies like gasoline and electricity still play a key role in our life. Although we have invested much in other NEW energies such as wind, solar energy and hydrogen, it seems that no other energies can be used as an institute of the traditional energies. Hardly can we see an car which is driven by something other than oil. Still, there is really some electricity which is from wind or solar energy, but the they are far from substituting the traditional soureces of energies. So, if we want to encourage our energy reservation, the most important thing we need to is saving more energies, especially the traditional energies like gasoline and electricity.

Therefore, if we want to raise our energy reservation, we must use less gasoline and electricity; and the only way to use less gasoline and electricity is raising their prices.

If people use less, the nergy conservation certaily will raise. There are many ways to enhance energy saving. Price rising certaily is among them, but it is not the only one. For example, many researches suggest that if people know the importance of energy saving, they are inclined to use less energy. For example, many government and corporation voluntarily keep their room temperature at around 28 degree instead of 20 after they know there is a temporory shortage of energy in the summer of last year. Still, government can regulate people’s behavior through laws and regulations. Obviously, price increasing is only one of the methods to raise the energy conservation for government.

More importantly, we can use other sources of energy to increase our energy conservation. Traditional energy like gasoline is not recycling, and it will run out sooner or later. So if the government want to raise the energy reservation in a long run, it and energy corparaions should invest more on NEW energy like wind, solar energy and even nuclear energy. Through developing new energy, the energy conservation for the government surely will be encouraged.

Therefore, in order to raise the energy conservation, there are a few methods like education and developing new sources of energy except raising the price. And surely ordinary people will welcome any method other than raising the price.
