The world we live in is very vast and colorful. Numerous nice things are worthy of being seen, even if they may cost you some time and money. If I have an opportunity to visit any foreign country for one or two weeks I’d like to, I would prefer the US from my experience and personality.

The main reason is the US is a yearning place to me. When I was a little boy, I had read lots of books about the US. And today I like the movies made in Hollywood very much. Thus I am eager to know more about the culture and history, especially I like to visit the Washington, which is the capital of the US. The Washington is the politic center and has many famous buildings, such as the capitol which is also called White-house for its appearance and the Pentagon. I am sure that I can know the US deeply if only I could spend a couple of days in this city.         

In addition to the sceneries created by the human, the natural landscapes in the US are also attractive to me. Yellowstone national park is one of the most unusual places in the world, which lies in the western state of Wyoming. Extremely hot water shoots out of the ground in several hundred places and visitors can watch bubbles coming up through boiling hot mud. I am quite sure that I would be very excited if I could enjoy this kind of spectacle personally.

The final reason is I am considering attending a one of the university there for my doctor degree, I think it is great to see the school campus and perhaps meet some professors who are doing research in the field I am interested in before application. It would also beneficial for me to meet other students. By ding this, I can procure more useful information to find out the most appropriate major for me.     

Of course, there are so many countries in the world, but the US is my favorite for the reasons I have listed above. One or two weeks maybe seem too short, however, if I were accepted by a university in the US, I would have plenty of time to find out interesting things in the US.
