Whether is the artist, not the critic,who gives society something of lasting value? a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels,    films, music, paintings, etc. I agree with speaker for the artist gives society something of lasting value Without them the society could not have the famous work "Impression: Sunrise"of  Monet's ,"Symphony destiny"of Beethoven's,"War and Peace"of Leo Tolstoy's or "Forrest Gump".However,it can not neglect the contribute from a critic to the society. The people realize the truly merit of a art though the judgement by a critic. They help people to find it and also gives something of lasting value to society.

Admittedly,the artist is the source of lasting value to the society who produce the works of art and make our world colourful. People is encouraged because of a passionate song and cry through a sad film. They will contemplate when they staring at a abstract painting. It is no denying that the artist enrich the mental world of ours.

However, the account of art is enormous that people is impossible to appreciate all of them as well as find which has the merit and which has not. Thanks to the critic who help people to enjoy it more simple.In fact,according the criticism of a critic that people could choose which is worth taking time to appreciation,which is not. What is more,the critic could lead public to understand the truly value of a art which is a capability that  the public does not have.

Meanwhile,the critic also make the artist is found by the society. Perhaps some artist's art style can not accept by the public of the time,but because of the critic's judgement. The public acknowledge them stand by stand. In the 19th century,Monet did not find acclaim and wealth to later in his life and at times suffered through extreme poverty. Success also allowed him some degree of freedom in his work.In short,the critic also is important to the artist who is make them to be accept by the society.

Moreover,the critic is the bridge which is connect the artist and the public. The critic show the public what is the merit of a art as well as indicating the artist what is the public prefer. The artist have the exact aim of what a work of art should be when they know what the public really like. After that the artist produce more and more arts what is the public favorable. This is the something of lasting value from the critic to the society.

To sum up,both of the artist and critic gives  society something of lasting value.Not only the artist provides work of art to us ,but also the critic show us what the merit is. Without either of them,people would not have so much things to remember,to enjoyment.
