Topic: Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. Do you agree or disagree?

It is difficult to understate the importance of teachers in contemporary society. Due to the importance of teachers, finding an effective method of evaluating them would have an enormous effect on society as a whole.
Since my father is a professor in a provincial university in China, I fortunately have a good understanding about how teachers are paid now in China. The salary of a teacher depends on his educational level, the number of classes he has weekly, the number of students the teacher has and many other factors. This system has been working for years, and thus far, major flaws have not yet emerged.
Now, as advocates of the new opinion-should teachers be paid as how much the students have learned from the class; many people are discussing the teachers’ wage standard. Is the system we are using now already out of time?
Definitely, paying teachers by how much students have learned could motivate teachers to work harder and consider the interests of all more than they do in the current situation. This paying standard could make the education better and fit particular students. According to the new theory, educational institutions could perhaps even save money from eliminating some unqualified and unpopular teachers to invest into other fields.
Given the aforementioned benefits to the alternative system, why not just implement it now? Alas, it has plenty of weaknesses. If it were in action, it would put teachers in extreme pressure. In such an uncomfortable position, teachers would not be able to convey their knowledge to their students with their characteristics. As a result, all the classes would become more or less the same, which means just following the unified books without any creative input from the teachers. In addition, it is common sense that learning is an interactive activity. In other words, students and teachers work together to produce a good result. Moreover, this rule could make teachers, especially new teachers, to just satisfy their students to ensure their jobs stable but not really challenge the students.  Therefore, I don’t think paying teachers based on what their students learn is fair.  Moreover, the extreme stress may cause teachers to resign; which would eventually harm the whole education system.
Overall, I think the wage-measure standard is working well now, so why rock the boat? Though it probably not perfect, has some issues need to be evolved, Chinese education ministries could devise methods to amend the current system instead of creating a new one. Therefore, I don’t support the concept that teachers should be paid as how much the students have learned. (432 words)
