TOPIC     classes where teachers do all of the talking 和 classes where the students do some of the talking 哪个好

According to a resent survey conducted at my university, 78% of the students questioned prefer classes where teachers do all of the talking in that teachers provide them professional trainings and scientific methods which will greatly contribute to the learning efficiency of students. Contrary to the opinion of majority students, though, is my point of view that classes where the students do some of the talking are more effective and more efficient than are the ones that teachers completely take charge of.
Among the most essential strengths that the students talking more in classes, to start with, is that they can gain knowledge from each other. Unlike leaded by the teacher, the students get the same way of thinking and are more readily to comprehend one another. Consquently, they are aware what is others’ weak points and advantageous aspects, which helps the class go more smoothly and more efficacious. For instance, a teacher may spend 20 minutes to illustrate a chapter in detail to provide the students nuderstanding it, while a student, knowing that his classmates have already grasped the point of the chapter, would use only 5 minutes to go through the unit, utilizing the rest 15 minutes review the textbook, to prepare for next class or something.
Another positive point to letting the students do some talking in the classes is that they can benefit from the team work of group activities. For example, if the professor assign the students to give several presentations on the subject in group or team, each team would get ready for the assignment and discuss how to make it perfect,during which the students will learn to cooperate with others, and even some one of the group can develop an ability of leadership.Also, the relationship among the students would be promoted more close.
Of course, the virtues to the teacher entirely giving classes can never be denied, meanwhile. A teacher who was trained professionally knows the key point of the subject that should be emphasized and organizes the classes more systematically, which helps the students review more easily,and the helpful methods that the teacher provides would be available to the students in the future when they are wording on other fields.
In a word, I believe considerable though the advantages of teacher-centre classes enjoy, they can not compete with contributions that students-participating classes brings about. Thus, we should popularize the thought that students should be encouraged to occupy more percentage of the talking in classes and practice it classrooms in the collages, in the middle schools and even in the primary schools.
