Title: People reduce stress in many different ways. What are the best ways for you?
Nowadays, the increasingly competitive social circumstance brings great stress to individual. How to deal with stress is becoming one of the most popular and important issues in our life. For me, I think the best ways to reduce stress are playing instrument, participating in sports and socializing with friends.
First, I think playing instrument can relieve our stress in a mental way. According to a survey published by Psychology and Health, a famous magazine in China, people who often plays instrument suffer less stress than those who doesn't, because one can easily devote him/herself into music or melodies. While concentrating on music, they won’t think about stress, in other word, forget the stress for a while. Although they will probably remember the stress soon later, the stress has lowered that it was. I often play guitar after a long time studying or before important exams. It provides such an excellent way for me to relive stress that helps concentrate on my later studying.
Comparing with playing instrument, playing sports more focuses on how to release the stress. And the direct way to release stress is to do something energy-consuming and, to some extent, violent yet harmless. Sports are the combination of all the mentioned characters. Basketball, my favorite sport. After playing basketball, I always feel refreshment in my mind, though I'm exhausted physically.
Finally, another good way to reduce stress is to turn to somebody you are familiar with. When you start to talk the stress, you are releasing it. This will lower the stress. More importantly, you can get sooth or help from your friend, which will have tremendously positive impact on your mind. For instance, when I experience stress, I usually phone my best friend Wang Di, and he will give me some advises and persuade me to take some exercise. Sometimes, if we both are free, he will ask me to go hike in weekend, which are always pleasant experiences.
In conclusion, people can solve or reduce stress in numerous ways, and the best ways are those suit you, according to me, are playing instrument, join sports and socializing with your friends.
