To live in a big city or to live in a small town is someting of a dilemma forced by people across the world.We cannot easily reach a conclusion which is better since both have their unique advantages.Instead of totally advocating one of them,I suggest they be applied under different circumstances.
Nowadays, more and more people flow into big cities primarily in pursuit of working opportunities. With the majority of famous enterprises established in big cities,more employees equipped with knowledge and expertise are in urgent need. Also, many parents prefer to live in big cities in consideration of the education of their children. The advanced educational facilities, the professional teachers, the massive opportunities of communicating with teachers and students in other places or even overseas,all of these can only be gained in big cities.Furthermore, big cities enjoy the fame of supplying qualified service for their residences. It can be given a concrete example that most hospitals, supermarkets are built near communities. In addition, it is not rare to see communities in big cities hold entertaiment performances and other kinds of exhibitions which enrich people's lives by a large margin. In conclusion, big cities attract people to get decent jobs, better education and a rich life.
However, there is a contemporary trend that many people move to small towns. It is not difficult to understand their attempts to enjoy good environments. Since there are more and more factories, cars and people in big cities, clear air, clear water and trees and flowers can only be enjoyed unlimitedly in small towns. Good environment is the best medicine for people sick of pollutions. Meanwhile, living in small towns can establish the pure harmonious relationship in one's neighbourhood.Living in an environment not that crowded will make people care for others around them and the not all well equipped conditions could help people build disinterested relationships in helping each other. What's more, with the development of communication system and transportation, people living in small towns can also share the benefits, like better education and occupation, in big cities.Therefore, life in small towns are with more convenience as well as ease.
For me, in my twenties, my preference now is for big cities, in which my favorable job and glorious future lay.However, when I retire one day, I will move to small towns to enjoy a more quiet and easier life, to get a close touch to nature.
