But you do care about dianosour(dinosaurs) I recall and today we discuss the geological evidence about what killed dianosours. At least here in American.
) J2 s5 b: Y' ]" DOh, sure. They got hit by comet or something I think
6 J# ?8 Q# ?: O) x# b% [- GAbout 60 million years ago a huge commit did crash into the earth down in the Mexico. And it plour(plowed) out as an numerous crater over a hundreds miles cross.
' N, u5 u' A& O! w4 PAnd that is what why death the dinasours, right?
$ P6 S1 _% B: n. G) YWell it was not exactly the impact itself but what happens right afterward, you see researchers figured it out from the shape of crater that the comet must be coming in pretty low across the land(Atlantic) and so right after impact a huge cloud of fire river must have disperate(swept clear) across the north America, all in just a few minutes. And that what probably kill off not just the dinonsours but a of different species plants and animals.0 e. a5 ~. U2 p1 z
Amazing.
" z: C2 [8 L1 H: S9 i( j4 xYes! And even 2000 miles from the impact, plants would have been burst in the flames.
5 o: q$ _# M/ nAnd fire intense must destroy(destroy) just about everything.
* M* n+ N) ]: R* v  MWell, above ground any way.
9 \1 {) b4 \4 {7 H! uAbove ground? I wonder if it that explain why dianounsor all disappeared while other animals like maybe small mammals on the land(living underground) manage to survive.
7 @: B# i" d+ c& kMake sense. Anyhow later on the tons of dusts thrown away out into the atmosphere may have caused some global climate change. So eventually the comet accepted animal species all around the world but no where as much as in America.(so eventually the comet probably affected plants and animals species all around the world but nowhere as much as North America)

; E  R, `8 r. S5 f2 e8 q6 d& |We have been talking about some of the affects that the human beings so act on the earth. One you may not be aware is that we actually begun to change the length of the day. The other we say one day is the amount of time the earth need to spend completely around on axis. And the imagery line runs through the center of the earth from north to south. And because(of course) a lot of physical causes that can affecte the speed(spin) of the earth rotation. But there is only one that can direct result of the human activity. Since 1950 human being have build about 10000 artificial resiversial(reserviors) all over the world. These reservoirs redistributed tremendous amount of the earth water. What used to be in the area is near the quarter (equator) and the imagery line on around(surround) the middle of the earth. It is now reservoirs area of different latitudes. The latitude matters is because, well, think of the earth and its axis. The quarter contain the area on earth farthest way from axis. So water is being redistributed from the equator reasons, so wherever the water is, to it is closer to earth axis. It is likes one eyes(ice) skaters perfom spins when those skaters put their arms encloser their body they stain(spin) faster. So the earth is spinning faster because reservoirs have redistributed the water closer to its axis. And because
5 p6 [: y2 F$ G5 [+ b0 zthe earth is spending(spinning) fast, since 1950 the length of the day has decreased by about 8 million of a second. I know that does not sounds much but significant in that this is first time human being ever had mesurable(miserable) affaect on the earth motion.

' v: k, \' m  r- NFirst of all, let look at why temperature tend to be higher in city than in the rural area. This happens because almost 15(50) percent of urban area are comprised of hard surfaces, like paved street, parking lot buildings and roof tops. As the result, any amount of rainfall is quickly repair(repelled) bodies(by this service) and carried away by stone(storm) drians((drains) and gutters. Especially water just does not have chance to stand out(around) until the evaporate And during the process of evaporation that heat is removed from the air. So, cities where there is less evaporation temperatures will be higher. Another cause is also the issues of add heat coming form building heating system, from industry, cars, and even human bodies. Even being in the city itself, tempearture(temperature) is vary significantly, for example, in winter, streets that get a lot of the use will be 2 or 3 degrees warmer than less travel streets. And place where cars fit(sits) for a while like a stoplight can be in another 3 degrees warmer. On the other hand, low sparw(spots) in city where cold air collect will be much colder than higher places. Rain and snowfall also affected by urbanization, city can(tend) to get quite less snowfall than the surrounding countryside. Because of the high temperature of the city but rainfall in the city can be 5 or 10 percent higher. This happens of two factors, first the warmer temperature of city, the second, the larger number of dust particles in urbal area. These dust particles are important requirement for common(condensation) The
' b8 t5 |$ U) v, j, {water vapore(vapore) in atmosphere is able change to liquid by planning to dust particles susbend(suspended) in the air. So, where there is the higher number of dust particles, condensation take place more easily. That is why fogs and clouds are usually more frequent around city. One condensation take place rainfall is not fall(far) behind. In the London area for example, thounderstorm(thunderstorm) can produce 30 percent more rainfall than the surrounding countryside. Some urban climatologists go so far as they argue can see a pattern increasing the rainfall during the workweek. They believe rainfall amounts are smaller at weekends because dust particles generated by cars and factories are reduced.

, @) H! l  Q7 n7 k7 SI often hear my friends say days pass much more quickly than used to do, but geologist(geologically) speaking just the opposite is true. In fact, a complete day, which now lasts 24 hours actually used to be much shorter only 18, How do we know that Because of the number of finally strike(strata) rocks like this, rocks fall(from) belong ancient shortline, always the billion years ago. The tiny line for these sample show us the layers of light and dark form by dust blown over short(shoreline) from the line(land)side. Alternating was the modern(mud and )sand positive(deposited) by the waves. So, the space between one dark strata and the next emphases of the time between on month high tide and the next. And very in physical(fitness) of layers show us the cycle(circle) of the seasons as well. Together the dates indicate that there fewer months for year way back then. That means the moon was moving more slowly than as they remove(revolved) around the earth. So, what caused moon do speed up so much over last billion years. It must being the tips(tides), think about it. As the gravity of the moon pull on the oceans form the tides, all that water is also pulling on the moon. And with each rotation makes moon move a tiny bit faster. At the same time, like breaks(brakes) on the wheel of bicycle, the drag caused by the moon’s gravity makes the earth turn just a tiny bit slow. And so, after a billion years, one rotation meaning one day takes a lot longer than it once did.
