There are many resources of news and information in the world, it's difficult to know whom to believe and what is truth.
In modern society around 2008, we live in an information explosion period. We could get enormous news and information everywhere everyday. Faced with such situation, the vast of people claim that they can't believe the truth of news and information. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the viewpoint of the following reasons.
It is not an easy thing for us to judge the truth of overwhelming news and information around us. Because people can never go through all of the data provided to them. For example, who could tell the truth about the death of Princess Diana in 2007? Are the news, magazines or any other mass media? We could read massive news and reporters about it, but we can not judge the truth. The details are never totally announced to the public, for although the journalists themselves are also not able to know. The articles written by them just tell some aspects of the incident. Then for most of common people, it is hard to decide which is true which is false. In addition, more and more news especially like hot news is just written for impressing people.
Journalists are usually competing to get a piece of shocking news in order to write attractive news. It much likely happens to the famous movie stars and singers who are the most concerning of the fans who are curious about all things about the stars. Rumors and affairs appear as the head titles of newspaper, front pages of magazines and television programs. However, who knows the truth at the first time they saw it? In this case, some rumors known as the truth for a long time a year or more, some of them are exposed as false information in quite a short time then forgot by people. At last but not the least, information from the advertisements in magazines, newspapers and televisions are also confusing people by its various ways of expression.
Advertisements, which are appealing customers with fabulous pictures, words of the new productions, always confuse us when we make a decision. Because every advertisement says its production is the best in quality one among all of the others, while another one says the production has both good quality and beautiful shape. How can we make a right choice based with the information, since most of us don't have professional knowledge of these products? What is truth? It's a difficult problem for people.
Considering all the factors above, we could safely come to the conclusion that there is a great deal of data make people can not judge, identify or make a decision correctly. But I believe, more and more journalists are doing their best to solving the problems and providing reliable news and information to readers.
