Imagine that you are preparing for a trip. You plan to be away from your home for a year.In addition to clothing and personal care items,you can take one additional thing,what would you take?


Essay:
When on a trip,I always bring a book by Lu Xun with me.Because his books provide me a deeper insight about  the past  of  China and he is the man I admire most and look up to.

Lu Xun was one of  the most illustrious writers in China all the time.He was born in the darkest period of  China: The Qing Dynasty was too corrupt  to stagger forward. Some western countries such as England,France and Germany  encroached our country.Meanwhile the English merchants sold opium to our people.Consequently, A lot of Chinese people got addicted to the opium.Not only money and land of China was on the drain,but also did many Chinese people become more and more weak.Seeing this situation,he felt very sad and anger. So he went to Japan to study medical treatment  in order to cure the Chinese's illness.During the days studing in Japan,he experienced the discrimination upon Chinese. A strong feeling of  indignation arose in  his heart.As a result,he made a resolute desicion:dropping study and returning to China to be a writer.From then on,Lu Xun was no longer a student studing abroad,but a fighter for Democracy.He took out his pen and wrote articles or novels to fight against  the backward Feudalism in China.His works gave inspiration to the youth and evoked their courage to save the heavily sick country.Thanks to his persistent devotion to Democracy,China had experienced a series of changes and revolutions since then.Finally the Qing Dynasty was overturned.Feudalism in China was terminated!

Though now we are living under the peace and enjoying the happiness brought by the fast development of our country,I still vividly  remember the words he wrote in his books after he returned to China:Medicine can cure a sick person,but  articles can cure a sick  country.

一些人认为，为了更真实地了解社会事件，应该读报而不是看电视，因为电视往往没有提供足够的信息，你怎么看？

To read newspaper or to watch television, it is a question. Nowadays, an issue about the topic has come into limelight. Some embrace the idea that newspaper is more likely to provide adequate information than television. However, this opinion has never appealed to me.

Newspaper is a sort of media that people get used to, though the form of reading seems a little tedious and time-wasting. As to me, watching TV does give me adequate information by its vivid narration from multiple angels: pictures and voices. The people who applaud the idea of reading newspapers say nothing about the time you have saved from watching TV nor do they commit the time you have saved may be used to gain more information. As is known to all, when the news come out, reporters must accumulate enough evidence such as pictures or voices to convince the general public. And television becomes an efficient tool to spread the news by showing images of the event, comments of the reporter as well. Thanks to the TV, people can acquaint these information even just by a mere glimpse at the pictures or the voices of the reporter on TV. So I absolutely believe this is much faster than reading hundreds of words on a paper. Take my  personal experience for example, I ordered daily newspapers one year ago. The newspaper was received every morning and it reported all the events that happened just the day before. However, the news on the paper failed to attract me as I had already known them by watching the 30 minutes' news report on TV. Moreover, After watching TV, I surfed on the Internet to get some further information about the case I was interested in. As a result ,this year I did not order one single piece of newspaper at all. Because the newspaper invariably gave me an impression of somehow out-dated source of  mass media.

阅读:前面3篇考过就忘了 (记忆力不行啊)但是加试的两篇却是屡试不爽的----美索不达米亚文明和达而文的自然选择!!!(我是去年8月上的北京新东方,也是在那个时候知道这两篇机经的.考试前一天拿出来还在怀疑08年会不会换了,看来这两篇加试老美是一辈子都8打算换了啊 )

听力:有很多选项很长而且相似不好排除,选项比OG的要难!感觉语速适中,但生词较多!可能是我听力欠佳吧,有几个LECTURE记了一大堆都不知到到底在讲什么.

口语:1 童年时经常去的地方  
    2 学理工比学文艺重要,你觉得呢?
         3 学校的食堂(dining hall)改成俱乐部(dining club),邀请学生当厨师,还要收额外的材料费用.男学生鼎立支持1)学生可以感受当厨师的压力(pressure)(2)学生自己做即使收食材费也比外面的餐馆便宜
     5 女生胳膊受伤快好了,要参加concert的演出.男学生有2个建议:自己去还是找人代替
     4 不好意思,想不起来了.
          6 intrinsic value和extrinsic value(熟悉OG的听力部分会对这个话题很熟悉,这次作口语的lecture考了,例子改了一下,很easy)

作文:1综合写作:关于the settlements of  Chaco Canyon 的作用
文章说有3个可能的功能:群居;储存玉米(maize);仪式(ceremonial)
lecture对此一一批判:烧火做菜(fire place;cooking)的地方不够,所以不是用来群居的.
                                     没有发现玉米和装玉米的容器(container),所以不是用来储存玉米的
                  挖掘出来的东东不是用来祭祀的,而是structure material(第3个我就不大清楚了,有点走神 )

2独立写作:人们仅仅为了自己的enjoyment而做事而没有做很多应该做的事,你同意这观点吗?
(为了把global warming的例子用上偶同意啦,可惜偶打字太慢,只写了273个字,会扣分么? )
