The lecture is mainly discussing the requirement changing in the number of curriculum in the department, simply because that its graduates are not adequately prepared for jobs in their chosen profession. While, in the listening material, the professor announced that the new policy stated will only have a partial effect.
According to the lecture, all the undergraduates have to take five required courses instead of three, and only need to choose elective courses from five to three.
First of all, the professor cast doubt on the reading passage by raising an issue that students who already took the test complained about the newly policy made by department. Challenging the decision made by the department as it mention in the passage, the speaker stated that the decision above only will effect on the newly students but not the students who already took the test. He still mention that they will not forced to take the additional courses and will still graduate successfully with taking only three required courses.
In short, the points asserted by professor are different from the passage, which is more like an additional change or an amendment.
